Youth Conference

It was so much fun to attend youth conference this year at NAU with Carie & Matthew.
We were in charge of transportation, training, and check-in with Curt and Alison.

The theme was D&C 6:36 "Look unto me in every thought, doubt not, fear not."

It was fun to have Uncle John & Aunt Jean speak to us on Friday evening.

I was reminded to ALWAYS TRUST THE LORD.  He LOVES us more than anyone, He KNOWS us better than anyone (even ourselves) and He has ALL the facts.

We were also able to listen to Christian and Stephanie Nielson speak.
Stephanie said she has learned that real BEAUTY is being confident, humble, never giving up, having a strong testimony and always acting our part with grace.

Other speakers included Brooke White, Al Fox, Don Bluth, Ed Lamoreaux, & Mark Ogletree.

(Maddi & Carie with Brooke White)

It was always fun to run into the youth in the cafeteria!

Arizona State Track Meet - May 11, 2013

The Arizona State Track Meet was held on May 11, 2013 at Mesa Community College.
The stands were full, but thanks to Curt and Alison, we all got seats in the shade!
There was lots of family there to cheer on Carie and Clark.

(These two spent a lot of their day under the bleachers waiting for their events).
Clark ran the 100, 200, and 400!  He is an amazing athlete!

Carie ran the third leg of the 4x800 and did great,
keeping MV in the lead!
(I taped the race, but thanks to Alison,
we have these fun action shots.)

Her team was excited to come in 2nd Place!
Houston Jones, Carie, Madey Brooks, and Kylie Jorgensen
set a new Mountain View record.
 9:21.93!

Spring Break

Spring Break started early for us this year!
Grandma & Grandpa were able to come visit AZ for a couple of days.
Courtney and Matthew opted to skip school and go horseback riding
with the Glenns & Grandma & Grandpa in the McDowell Mountains.

The desert was beautiful this time of year - very green!
We saw two bald eagles and some wild horses.

We also hiked to the Wind Caves with the Glenns & Grobergs.

Grandma Jeanne, Anna, and Carie all did a headstand at the top.

We then took a QUICK trip to Palm Springs
 and the BNP Paribas Open.

(There was a small earthquake that morning that shook us up a little!)

The tournament was so much fun.  I can't wait to go again!!!
I guess I do really like tennis.

The highlight for Matthew was having Roger Federer sign his BYU hat.

That evening we relaxed at the hotel and then rode bikes through Palm Springs the next morning.

We are now home and getting ready to send the boys off to Mountain Man.

February Fun

February 14 - Boys City Track Meet

We spent Valentine's Day evening at the Boys City Track Meet.
Matthew competed in the long jump and the discus.  He did great!

February 15 - Yesteryear at Highland

Courtney had fun riding on a horse drawn covered wagon with her friends,
 Square-Dancing,

and quilting.  I had so much fun helping the kids tie their class quilt.  I actually enjoyed making it. My awesome neighbor showed me how to do the strips and I think it turned out okay!
